Director: Meropa Communications
Donald is possibly one of South Africa’s top spin doctors.
He is currently a director at Meropa Communications, responsible for strategic counsel to clients in the government and the emerging entrepreneur business arena. He joined Meropa from the National Ports Authority where he was public affairs manager. Donald has also had short stints as a freelance communications consultant and as a managing director of Zanenza Communications.
His expertise covers the gamut of sub-sectors within the trade, including media management, advertising, sponsorships and marketing, stakeholder relations and reputation management. Prior to this, Donald worked at the Transnet group for nine years. His particular speciality is in using non-traditional media platforms.
Donald has a slew of qualifications, including an executive development programme from the Gordon Institute of Business Science, a graphic design diploma from the AAA school of advertising and a diploma in Public Relations from Wits Technikon. Donald enjoys public speaking and fills his spare time reading. He writes in specialist publications on behalf of his clients as well as in his personal capacity on occasion. His aspiration remains to one day publish.
