Malefu owns Tamia Transport Service. She started this trucking business with a four-ton truck three years ago and the business now has a fleet of 12 trucks and a monthly turnover of R380 000. Malefu’s is an ever growing vision: she would like to expand her business to the rest of Africa. Malefu graduated from the University of Hull (UK with a BSc accounting honours degree. She has worked at Deloitte & Touche, Arthur Anderson, SABMiller, Standard Bank and Viamax.
This has given her experience in financial reporting, budgetary control, financial planning, tax returns and project management. She also has a solid working knowledge of logistics and fleet management.
Malefu, whose motto is “I’ll get your goods to you on the right day and at the right time of day”, is a founder member of the South African Women Entrepreneur Network and lsu women’s initiative and networks.
