Mlungisi is a co-owner of Nino’s in downtown Jozi. He and his partner, were the first black owners of a Nino’s franchise in South Africa. The branch is benefiting from the city’s rejuvenation and with good coffee (and even better croissants), is holding its own in a highly competitive and saturated market.
Mlungisi came to coffee via construction. He holds a BSc in construction economics and management (University of the Witwatersrand). His work experience includes working as a site engineer for WBHO, where he was fully entrusted with the laying of sewer and storm-water pipes at the Milpark Hospital. He has worked at Rainbow Construction as a site engineer, where he so impressed on the women’s jail site that he was moved to the Vodaworld project where he successfully completed the R3-million extension project within a stipulated time frame and budget.
He is currently working at Bradford McCormack and Associates as an investment sales property broker, which involves buying and selling commercial property and land.
