Nkaxa Nkuna has wings … chicken wings. He is the owner of Chicken Kwasa, a successful new fried-chicken franchise that is challenging old-comers such as Chicken Licken and KFC.
There are now six Chicken Kwasas, which employ 70 young people. An entrepreneur by nature, Nkaxa worked at Telkom for five years before starting Chicken Kwasa for his unemployed siblings. He is a Wits commerce graduate and was also a member of the AAA school of advertising’s internship programme. He hails from Pretoria.
Last year, Nkaxa won Black Business Quarterly’s new and innovative business of the year award for 2005.
