Rejane, a portfolio manager with Metropolitan Asset Managers (MetAM), will happily host you for lunch at the idyllic Bulungula Lodge in the Eastern Cape, which she co-owns with her husband, Dave, and the local community.

Rejane joined the financial industry in 1998 as a junior economist at Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated. Two years later, she joined their fixed income trading and sales desk in Johannesburg, analysing the local and global economy and fixed-income markets. Rejane joined MetAM in January 2002. She manages MetAM’s R4.-billion international asset exposure and has responsibility for forecasting the local and global macroeconomic variables. Rejane recently completed a master’s degree in development economics at Sussex University in the United Kingdom on a full scholarship awarded by the Ford Foundation. Her qualifications include a B.Bus.Sc, economics honours (UCTJ and CFA (US).
