Love him or hate him, there is no denying Jabu Mahlangu (formerly Pule) has heaps of talent. Born in Daveyton in 1980, Mahlangu represented his country at the Olympic Games in 2000 and at the 2002 World Cup. His contract with Kaizer Chiefs was not renewed in 2004 and Austrian club SV Mattersburg also soon lost patience with Mahlangu after he crashed his car while drunk. It was a similar story at Supersport United, before the hugely talented midfielder found a place with Orlando Pirates last year. He also changed his name from Pule to Mahlangu, the name of his late father, during this time and he seems to be back on the straight and narrow. Many now tip the 26-year-old to make a reappearance in national colours, should he manage to impress new national coach Carlos Parreira.
