Thebe Ikalafeng was ranked one of the country’s top 10 thinkers in marketing in an independent survey by the Sunday Times and Markinor, and “Mr Brand” by the Mail & Guardian.
He is an award-winning and recognised branding leader, author and business person; founder of The Brand Leadership Group, a multi- disciplinary group of companies in strategy, design and public relations; founder of www.leadingbrands.org, a forum for sharing thought leadership and best practices on building brands in Africa; a non-executive director of Mercantile Bank Holdings and Foodcorp; and a member of the Vega School of Brand Communications’s governing body.
He has advised many of Southern Africa’s leading brands and taught at Wits University and Unisa’s schools of business leadership. He has held marketing leadership positions in South Africa and the United States, has published widely and addressed diverse audiences across the continent, including the Cabinet of South Africa, Design Indaba and the Nigerian Association of Advertising Agencies, on all aspects of leading brands.
