Yolanda Cuba

Chief executive, Mvelaphanda Group Ltd

From her humble beginnings as a waitress at Cape Town's Cafe Africa, Yolanda Cuba has become one of the youngest chief executives at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. Her interests include architecture, interior decor and ballroom dancing, so you have to wonder how she finds time to run Mvelaphanda Group Limited one ofSouth Africa's leading listed black-owned investment companies. Cuba is a chartered accountant by profession and holds a BCom honours degree in accounting. In 2006 she was recognised as the Top Empowered Businesswoman of the Year. In 2007 she received the Youth Excellence Award from the Black Management Forum. A year later she was selected as one of the Young Global Leaders, an initiative of the World Economic Forum. Karabo Keepile
